Accommodation
Cosy cottages with log burners or open fires: Lily Pad with it's 4 poster bed and log burner. The Old Round House, with it's own garden and open fire. Two bedroom cottages may be available at a discount for couples if the above cottages are both booked from the end of the Easter holidays until May half term and in October before half term. And our beautiful offsite cottage: Park En Vine Cottage, one mile away. Real character accommodation. Quiet location, yet within 100 yards of our friendly village pub. For couples only Park En Vine is available at the same price as The Old Round House to the beginning of July (excluding school holidays).
Location
We love all of Cornwall, but we really do believe our location is special . A mile away from main roads, we overlook the Little Petherick Creek, which runs into the beautiful Camel Estuary. It is only a 4 mile drive into Padstow, but what we love best about our location is the 2.5m walk into Padstow - around 45 minutes if you don't stop too much to admire the view. The walk goes along a small stretch of our lane, then from footpaths onto the Camel Trail which has fabulous views over the Camel Estuary to Rock. Or you can access the footpath that runs by the Little Petherick creek from our 'strip of land'. The Little Petherick Creek is really, really beautiful. Walk one way to Padstow, or the other to Little Petherick and then along the Saints Way (the popular Padstow - Fowey footpath) into Padstow. With two ways to walk into Padstow you can do a stunning circular walk. There are many more walking options from Trevorrick and we can give you lots of ideas. Maps are available to purchase. For those walking the coastal path there is a regular bus service into the village of St Issey.
Facilities
Our pool is heated to 29 degrees and as it is only available to our cottages and bed and breakfast guests, if you chose your time, couples can usually have it all to themselves.
Eating out
There are many wonderful restaurants to choose from in Padstow, and of course there are Rick Stein's 3 restaurants You can have a Rick Stein experience without breaking the budget at Rick Stein's cafe (informal eating, bistro style), next comes St Petrocs Hotel, but for the full works there is The Seafood Restaurant itself. All restaurants take bookings in advance. The Seafood Restaurant in particular must be booked well in advance. However you don't need to go as far as Padstow to eat. We are lucky to have two good eating establishments within a mile. The Pickwick Inn is half a mile along our lane and has a large bar area and restarant. In the village The Ring O'Bells is our friendly community pub, also with bar area and restaurant and also offers a small takeaway menu. You arrange (via us) to pick up a daily newspaper from the Ring O'Bells. Menus for both are available in the cottages.
Wildlife
Bring your laptop and you can watch our roosting Barn Owls from the comfort of your cottage. Hopefully they will nest again, and if you come in late May/June you may see the young. If you haven't a lap top you can use our communal computer in the Wash House. There are lots of birds to be seen along the banks of the creek and you will often see a buzzard circling overhead. We are told there are otters along the creek, though we have never seen any. If you are lucky you may see a Kingfisher. We have Badgers setts on our strip of land.
Touring Cornwall
Trevorrick Farm is about 2 miles from the A39 Atlantic Highway. This not only provides easy access to other towns and villages on the north coast, but provides easy access to the A30 and the west of Cornwall. Falmouth, Penzance and St Ives are only an hours drive
away and the Eden project only 35 minutes away. Gift aid the price of your
ticket to Eden and you can visit again in the next 12 months.
